Charging, Storage & Handling     •    Charge only with a smart charger rated for protected button top batteries, stay within the battery’s rated voltage and current limits, and never charge it unattended.     •    Keep batteries in a protective case whenever they are not installed. Contact with metal objects such as keys, coins, or tools can short-circuit them. Never carry loose batteries in a pocket, bag, or anywhere they are not secured.     •    Never expose the battery to water, fire, or high temperatures, and never modify, puncture, crush, or take it apart.     •    Stop using any battery that becomes abnormally hot during use or charging.  Smoke, swelling, hissing, or heat are warning signs of thermal runaway. Stop using the battery at once and, if you can do so safely, move it onto a non-flammable surface such as concrete or sand, away from anything that can burn. Treat it as a Class B fire: use an ABC or dry-chemical extinguisher, or flood the cell with a large volume of water to cool it and keep the fire from spreading. A light spray is not enough, and leftover heat can cause the cell to reignite, so keep watching the area afterward. Class D extinguishers are designed for lithium-metal batteries, not lithium-ion.
